PURE SOURDOUGH WORKSHOP By Tutors Ani & Tej Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm or until baking is complete. We will discover how to bake bread naturally leavened by a liquid sourdough starter. A Hands-on class with theory in order to understand all aspects of making sourdough bread. We will learn:
  • How to prepare a starter and levain.
  • How to use different types of ingredients.
  • How to mix, knead, and ferment the dough.
  • How to shape, score, and bake.
The theory part will be discussed as follows:
  • How to cultivate a sourdough starter.
  • How to maintain a sourdough starter.
  • Baker's percentage.
We will bake the following:
  • For DEMO whole wheat Sourdough sandwich bread (with herbs and garlic)
  • For HANDS-ON Sourdough country bread (with inclusions of seeds and nuts)
  • For DEMO Sourdough pavs.
  • For DEMO Sourdough pizza.
